When you need a break from your Office Space or just “wanna sauna” with your friends, Driftwood Sauna Club is here for you. We are Milwaukee’s largest Nordic Sauna Club featuring two custom, connected saunas located outside The Cooperage on the Milwaukee River. We recommend the full Nordic experience to achieve that clear and euphoric state we’re all chasing. If you don’t yet know the Nordic way, we’re here to teach you. If you’d rather read the details, we get it (although no reading allowed in the Social Sauna). Lol, jk. Carrying on, our Social Sauna is large and holds up to fifteen people. The Quiet Sauna is smaller for people who love silence almost as much as sweating. Buck up for the Cold Plunge because you’ll lower your body into Milwaukee’s Inner Harbor where you’ll escape the open waters safely inside a custom shark cage. No sharks. Just pure Milwaukee vibes, good times, and that so easily-achieveable “high-state” without the next day hangover. After (or during) your session, you can warm up by the fire pit and shower, if you like, to rinse off. Showers are only allowed when the temperature is above 32°F because it is Wisconsin, after all.

At Driftwood, you’ll get that restorative yet elevated feeling that’s rooted in centuries of Scandinavian tradition. Using dry, high heat (very high heat 160–200°F), Nordic saunas challenge the body in a way that triggers “feel-good” chemistry, helping you chill, and feel unexpectedly uplifted. As your body warms, circulation increases; when you cool down, you’ll experience a calm, clear and euphoric state. Sounds good, right? Ok. So What Else Do I Need to Know?
Driftwood Sauna Club is unique because our custom saunas were built using materials exclusively made for sauna-ing. The Social Sauna is built with Hemlock wood, which keeps the room feeling light, bright and open. Hemlock detracts odor and has minimal knots, which handles heat and humidity like a champ. The Quiet Sauna uses Alder, the most authentically Nordic sauna wood. It has low thermal conductivity, which doesn’t burn the skin. It’s smooth and splinter-resistant grain is comfortable for long sessions. Our seats and benches are made from the iconic sauna, Cedar wood, which gives off a warm and timeless aroma you expect from your sauna experience. Cedar naturally resists mold and performs beautifully in humid environments. The reddish-brown wood grain is soft and smooth. You won’t sit on a knot and feel an unexpected burning sensation that you’re never going for anywhere, no matter where you go.
